6/11. Reply

Hinda Israel June 18, 2026

We were in South Dakota when the Chabad house opened My husband was a shochet there in 2016. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood June 18, 2026
in response to Hinda:

Chabad does so many wonderful things that are precisely needed for our Jewish people. I just love the idea that i can be in South Dakota, which for me as a Jew might ordinarily feel like i am in the middle of nowhere, but then just when i about to give up all hope, I spot a Chabad in the distance, beckoning me to come on over to their shul on Shabbat, where I can enjoy their chulent at the end of the davening, and suddenly I would no longer feel quite so alone nor hungry Reply

6/11 I'm not a Chabadnik but thought I knew a bit more of the history than I do! That said, I'd love to know more about some these questions and answers…. Reply

9/11. Good, honest answer Nili.

Memory is why I missed two, but at least I remain teachable!

I scored 9/11. The questions i got wrong were the ones about which Rebbe did something or another (I already forgot what it was talking about) and was off by ten years regarding when Chabad came to America. i figure the answers to those questions would tend to be known only by those who are really into Chabad Reply

3/11 You guys are teaching me so much about judaism and I didn't know anything about Chabad history. It's a real shame!
Anyway, I promise to improve my knowledge.
Love and Respect! Reply

Chaim Schnitzer Borough Park January 10, 2024
in response to Георги Янкулов:

Why is it a shame not to know chabad history there are also other group of people that we don't know their history Reply

Sandra Wright Arizona January 25, 2024
in response to Chaim Schnitzer:

I respectfully offer that it is a shame to not know as much history as we can absorb, as history is the key to our future. As for the Chabad movement, I believe that it is the most orthodox of ALL people that carry on important traditions and teachings. It takes great faith and courage to stand out supporting religion today in this world. I would ad that my visit to Borough Park in the 80s made a lasting impression on my life and on my faith. I absolutely loved it! To be in such an environment! Reply

Raymond West Hollywood June 17, 2026
in response to Sandra Wright:

Well actually, Chabad is not the only strongly Orthodox movement within Judaism. There are also the Chareidim that call themselves Yeshivish Reply

Feigue Cieplinski Middletown June 18, 2026
in response to Raymond:

Raymond: Via quizzes we learn more , and with responses like this one -the mind opens to a higher level of knowledge. You mentioned : "Yeshivish" and that is a very important point because you bring the attention to the intervention of the Vilna Gaon who directed the foundations of those Yeshiivot you mentioned. His intent was, as a more formalized way or learning in a world that was changing very fast. The Vilna Gaon is crucial in the growth of a more modern way of learning, and is in itself an intersection between Chassidism and the the Yeshivish framework. I see a balance there. Yes? Reply
